Predator, facehugger, and Serenity?? How could I resist reblogging?!

MY HEAD ASPLODE OF THE DAY - Weyland-Yutani in Firefly

Note the logo at the top of this screen-capture from episode 1 of Firefly, where Mal is shooting down an aircraft in the battle of Serenity Valley. Turns out, Weyland-Yutani Corp. designed and supplied anti-aircraft guns to the Alliance!

Perhaps recalling Joss Whedon’s contribution to the Alien universe with his script for Alien: Resurrection, Firefly’s vis-effect guys threw in this subtle nod to Alien. And quite fitting, too, since we know that Weyland-Yutani was into weapons development.

This is a tumble-log devoted to the "Alien" and "Predator" film franchises, especially designs by HR Giger (and direction from directors Ridley Scott, James Cameron, et al).

How did you feel about Prometheus?
	OMFG better than I coulda hoped 4!! How can I get a squid-baby of my own?!?
	It's a great film, Ridley's still got it.
	It was a well-made film, but it ruined "Alien".
	It wasn't a well-made film, but it added well to "Alien" lore.
	Meh. There were as many flaws as good parts.
	Dissapointed. The flaws outweighed the good parts.
